Living laboratory

The observation platforms that SAEON builds are ideal for students, allowing them to experience a living laboratory. SAEON and the GFW node are committed to human capacity development. Our sentinel site at Cathedral Peak offers a unique living laboratory for students to visit and learn about a range of different scientific disciplines and global change observation and research. We host formal field schools in collaboration with the Centre for Water Resources Research at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, as well as informal site visits by students from various universities who are eager to learn more about what we do.
