Amy Marshall- Indibano Logistics Coordinator

Amy is a SAEON Professional Development Programme (PDP) PhD Candidate registered at the University of the Witwatersrand in the School of Geography, Archaeology and Environmental Sciences. Amy is supervised by Dr. Dave Thompson at SAEON’s Ndlovu Node, as well as Prof. Wayne Twine and Prof. Stefan Grab, both at the University of the Witwatersrand. Amy is a social ecologist and her PhD thesis, entitled: The complex socio-ecological system of the lowveld marula bioeconomy catchment, allows her to focus on the ecological, social/cultural and economic nexus of Marula trees (Sclerocarya birrea subsp. caffra) across parts of Limpopo in South Africa. Amy completed an MSc in Environment, Science and Society at University College London (UCL) in the UK during 2010 focussing on international sustainable development and climate change. Amy spent six years working in the environmental/social development and consulting space before commencing her PhD in 2016
